Tango Berretín, 6305 SE Foster Rd. Portland, Oregon.
Art Show: Sunday November 15, 2026, from 12:00 - 4:30 pm, 1:30 artist talk. Light refreshments will be available with tango music!
To celebrate recent mural restoration and Tango Berretín’s successes, Rapoport will have a one day exhibition of her original Filete Porteño paintings rarely seen. Hand drawn Silk-screen prints of Argentina from 1997, also rarely seen will be available along with other prints of her work.
She created the Tango Berretín mural in 2010 with partial funding from RACC. Restoration work has been partially funded by Prosper Portland. As a cultural icon identifying the Foster-Powell neighborhood, it is also an example of Filete Porteño, an iconic art from Buenos Aires.
Having the mural wrap around the Tango Berretín dance studio creates the illusion of being in Buenos Aires, Argentina, while uniting both Tango and Fileteado here in Portland.
Rapoport has been honored as a member of the Asociación de Fileteadores since 2013 for her supportive publication writings about Fileteadores and from participation in solo and group exhibitions in Buenos Aires since 1999. In 2015, UNESCO awarded Filete Porteño, born in Buenos Aires, with a declaration of Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad.
